Once you complete your training and are ready to apply for AMT certification, download a copy of the AMT Candidate Handbook, which provides a detailed look at the certification process (Download).
Note: California and New York applicants should contact the AMT office before submitting an application.
When you are ready to submit an application, simply download the document below, complete it and send it to AMT. Include all pertinent documents as well as the application fee. Please note that AMT cannot begin processing until the application is complete and all documents have been received. Please note that the application fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and that an annual fee of $90 is required to maintain certification. Please allow for 4 - 6 weeks for processing time of your application.

Testing Accommodations
Attached is the AMT policy regarding candidate requirements for submitting requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All requests for accommodations should be made at the time of initial application to AMT rather than after a candidate has been authorized to take an examination. (Download)
Notice to International Applicants
International applicants must have their foreign educational credentials evaluated PRIOR to examination. There are a number of companies that perform these types of evaluations. Please visit the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) at www.naces.org/members.htm, Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE) at http://www.aice-eval.org/ or the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) at http://www.aacrao.org/index.aspx, which lists current members who evaluate foreign credentials. If your credentials are evaluated by a company that is not listed with these organizations, they will not be accepted.
