President's Message
This year has flown by I can’t believe it’s November already. Unfortunately that means another holiday season having to be careful due to Covid and possibly scaling down your holiday gathering. I know we are all tired of wearing masks, not being able to do a lot of things we would like to, but the alternative to this is not an option. We have lost so many lives due to Covid and continue to lose lives due to misinformation. Please encourage your family, friends, and co workers to get vaccinated so we can get back to some semblance of normal.
We attempted to try and have a virtual meeting this fall but received no interest from you the members. A board meeting was held to discuss budget for 2022, do a financial audit, and discuss plans for next year. At this point we would like to have a Meet and Greet in the spring covid permitting. We also discussed the Fall Scientific meeting, we would like to do a job fair and have had some interest from the medical community about attending. We are still working on a venue and welcome ideas from you.
I want to remind you that we can always use volunteers to assist with the state business and planning meetings. Did you know that employers like to see information about you belonging to a professional group and that you participate within that group. This could be the difference that lands you that job you really want.
Please make sure you update your information on the AMT website so that you don’t miss out on important news and information. You can always reach your state leaders via arssamt@gmail.com or message us on our Facebook page (20+) Arkansas State Society of American Medical Technologists | Facebook. I will send an Eblast as soon as I have the information for the Spring Meet and Greet/Board meeting. As always stay safe and healthy.
