From the Desk of the President
The best laid plans ….. we all know how those go. I had intended to step down as President of the Arkansas State Society and have my Vice President fill my shoes but alas, it isn’t to be. We sadly say good-bye to Tyler Porterfield as he is moving to Pueblo Colorado to be a pastor at a church there. I know Colorado is getting a wonderful member. I do hope that in the near future one of our members will want to take over that position, until then I will do my best.
I want to encourage all of you to get your covid-19 vaccine when it is offered to you. I have had mine and in a few weeks, I will be able to hug my son and daughter in law for the first time in over a year. I had no side effects other than a sore arm just like when I get the flu vaccine. We are getting closer and closer to a more normal life so hang in there get vaccinated, mask up when in public, and social distance please.
We are having our Spring business meeting via Zoom in April. Zoom is ok but I am looking forward to seeing our members in person again. If any members are, teaching in an allied health program or knows of anyone who is, please get contact information. There are so many opportunities for students with AMT.
This year’s National meeting will be virtual again. I hope that many of you will avail yourself of the programs being offered to get those CE’s you need. Don’t forget to put your CE’s into AMTRAX. Talk to your Employers about paying for your registration. Be sure to go onto the AMT website to update your information if it changed so you receive emails and online publications.
The State Society welcomes all members who would like to volunteer for committees, the main board, etc. Check our Facebook page, the community page on the AMT website as well as our State Society Web page. You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
