American Medical Technologists submitted comments on the Washington State Department of Health second draft of proposed revisions to WAC 246-827-0200(2), proposed amendments to the rules governing the Department’s recognition of medical assistant certification examinations. The latest draft was circulated to interested parties by email on May 25, 2017.
AMT is one of the organizations currently recognized by the Department under WAC 246-827-0200 to administer certifying exams to qualify individuals for Medical Assistant-Certified certification under Washington State law. The draft revisions would replace the list of individually recognized certifying exams with a set of generic criteria that must be satisfied in order for a certifying exam to qualify an applicant for a state credential as Medical Assistant-Certified. AMT submitted a few suggestions for clarification and supplementation of the draft amendments.
