Hello Fellow Members,
This has been a very trying time the past year for everyone with the pandemic. As you all know we are still unable to have meetings in person due to COVID-19. With the rollout of the vaccine now, we can hope there is light at the end of the tunnel, and we will be able to meet in person. I would like to say “Thank You” to all our healthcare workers during this trying time, who are working so hard to take care of patients and family.
We did offer two CEU’s the end of last year and will be putting more together for our members. We have been conducting our board meetings virtually. There have not been any changes in our board members except for Jeff Lavender who recently moved to Colorado, we will miss him. We will be working out the details as far as our state fall educational meeting and holding business as usual as it can be. Please watch for information in your email.
The AMT Annual Meeting will be July 19-21, 2021 and be held virtually also. There will be 10 free, CEU’s available, details will be posted on the AMT website and sent in emails. Next year’s annual meeting will take place in the Western District.
There is a change in our publication process. We will no longer be putting out the Microbe. Instead there will be an online publication called the “State Reporter” which will contain information from all the participating states.
Please “like” our Facebook page at Michigan State Society of American Medical Technologists and/or email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Make sure you keep your personal information up to date, so you are receiving the most recent details from the national office and our state.
