President's Message

Welcome to Fall. Hopefully the rain will subside, and the temperatures will start to cool down. The State Fair is over and balloons fill the sky.

Welcome again to the New Mexico State Society web page. We try to keep this page updated with the upcoming events to remember. We hope this finds everyone safe and well.

Our Fall meeting this year was conducted on Saturday September 29, 2026, at the Presbyterian Medical Group on High Resort in Rio Rancho. I would like to thank everyone who attended, the members who contributed their time in presenting. The topics of Diabetes and Skin cancer were very informative. I would like to thank administration at the building for providing us with a place to hold our meeting. Thanks to all of you.

Dates to remember for 2027. The spring meeting for the State Society is tentative scheduled for April 24, 2027. The location is yet to be determined. At each meeting we have scheduled some continuing education, to help members maintain AMT status. During lunchtime, we conduct business matters pertaining to the state society. If you attend, lunch is provided.

Another date to remember is the National meeting. This will be a joint meeting of the AMT -CASMET, The Caribbean Association of Medical Technologist. It will be held August 9 – 12, 2027 at the Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle Resort in Bridgetown, Barbados. If you can attend, you can earn up to 15 hours of Continuing Education Units. Plus, you have the benefit of making lasting friendships with members from every state and from the Caribbean. I invite everyone to LIKE us on our Facebook page, “AMT NM State Society. Please review your copy of the PULSE magazine for the Fall 2026. In it you will find the new Board of Directors for AMT and articles of interest and some continuing education units.

I look forward to hearing from our members and if you have any suggestions on improving our electronic communications, please let us know. We welcome all suggestions. Remember, as a member you have an equal voice in running the State Society, Hope to see you at our next meeting.
