President's Message

Welcome to the New Mexico State Society web page. Thank you for visiting. Our state is slowly reopening with most COVID requirements reduced. Hope this continues so we do not have to return to past restrictions. We are grateful for all the essential workers who have weathered the past couple of years providing the care and treatment to those affected. They are a credit to their profession, and we applaud you.

We were able to hold our first in person meeting since our fall 2019 meeting. It was good to be able to meet in person and see each other after such a long time. We were able to provide four hours of CEU’s. We were informed about Autism, common types of Arthritis, How the Brain operates and the Functions of the Brain. Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for October 22, 2022, at Pima Medical Institute in Albuquerque on 4400 Cutler Ave NE. The west side campus where we use to hold our meetings has closed.

The 2022 Annual meeting will be held at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale Arizona from Jul7 18- 22, 2022. The room rate per night is $135.00 plus $17.78 tax, a $10.00 resort fee which includes the internet. Parking will be $16.00 for self-parking and $31.00 for valet parking. For 2023 the Annual Meeting site is scheduled for the Norfolk Waterside Marriott in Norfolk, Virginia. Registration details will be made known when available. This is an opportunity for you to meet your fellow members and get Continuing Education hours for the year.

I would like to thank the Pima Medical Institute and their instructor Lisa Gabaldon for assisting in putting our meeting together. It is with her help that we obtained a location to hold our state meetings. Thank you very much.

I look forward to hearing from each one of you, our members, about what you would like to see as a topic and any inputs to improve our web site. Hope to see you on October 22.

Virgil E. Marchand, RMA (AMT) President NMSSAMT
