If your state society has NOT submitted their list of delegates to AMT and you register, AMT will not know how your registration is being funded. You are strongly encouraged to wait and register until AFTER your state has submitted your name as a delegate and your active status has been confirmed. The deadline for your state to submit is May 1. There will be plenty of space for attendees at all courses and events. The deadline for registration is July 17. No refunds or changes will be accepted following this date.

Registration Descriptions

Attendee Registration
Registration includes admission to all the of the CE Sessions and meetings Monday-Thursday including daily breakfast and refreshments breaks. It also includes one ticket to the Welcome Reception and one ticket to the Awards Banquet. All attendees are expected to attend both social events. Social event tickets are not eligible for expense reimbursement and are not refunded from the standard attendee registration fee. If an attendee wants to bring a guest, the guest must have a guest registration and purchase a Welcome Reception and/or an Awards Banquet ticket separately.

Guest Registration
If you are attending the AMT Annual Meeting with a guest, they must register. Guests can register for the guest package or purchase tickets to various social events. Guests are NOT ADMITTED to CE Sessions or AMT Business Meetings.
The Guest registration includes breakfast and refreshment breaks. Welcome Reception tickets and Awards Banquet tickets must be purchased separately.

Student Registration
Students attending the AMT Annual Meeting must register. Students may attend the Welcome Reception but must purchase tickets to attend the Awards Banquet.

Extra Social Event Tickets
Attendee registration includes one (1) Welcome Reception ticket and one (1) Awards Banquet ticket. If guests want to accompany an attendee to the Welcome Reception and/or the Awards Banquet, they must purchase a ticket.

Hotel Reservations

The 2023 AMT Annual Meeting is being held at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, which is offering a special group rate of $165 per night. You will be able to reserve your hotel beginning Monday, March 20.

Ensure you make your reservation at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott on or after Monday, March 20. You will be charged a higher room rate if you make a reservation before March 20.

Check-in is at 4:00 PM and Check-out is at 11:00 AM. Please note that the hotel is 100% non-smoking.

Getting There

Air Travel

Purchase your air travel to and from the Norfolk International Airport (ORF). The airport is located 3 miles northeast of downtown Norfolk and 9 miles from the hotel. If you are a delegate, you will receive specific instructions for making your airline and hotel reservations.

To/From the Hotel

You have a few options when you arrive in Virginia to get to/and from the airport. Please note that there is no airport shuttle provided by the hotel.

  1. Use a rideshare service like Lyft or Uber or a taxi to get to and from the hotel.
  2. As a resource, visit Shuttlefare that assists with local options to get to/from the airport.

Parking

There is off-site parking in the Main Street Garage, 0.1 miles away from the hotel. Attendees can also make use of valet parking at $30 per day. There is additional parking owned and operated by the City of Norfolk. Note that the prices do not include an additional 6 percent tax.

Continuing Education

Get informed and immerse yourself in your choice of more than 50 CE Sessions. No matter your interest, area of focus or desire to learn something new, you will discover it at the AMT Annual Meeting. Participate in workshops and lectures taught by some of the best and brightest in the allied health industry.

Credits earned at the AMT Annual Meeting are accepted by the State of Florida (CE Broker #50-2206) and State of California (Provider #0061) for MLS, MLT and RPT licensure renewal. Please note that only laboratory-related sessions are eligible for credit in Florida.

Social Events

AMT has some can't miss events to help you connect and have some fun with your colleagues and AMT friends. Kick-off your AMT Annual Meeting experience by attending the Welcome Reception on Monday where you can enjoy music, dancing, light snacks, and a cash bar. You can also join us for dinner at the Awards Banquet!

What are the dates for the 2023 AMT Annual Meeting?
The AMT Annual Meeting will be held Monday, July 24 to Friday, July 28, 2023.

Where is the Annual Meeting taking place?
The AMT Annual Meeting will be held at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott located in Norfolk, Virginia. The address is 235 E Main St, Norfolk, VA 23510.

Who can attend the AMT Annual Meeting?
The AMT Annual Meeting is open to everyone, including allied health industry professionals, employers, program directors, and students. AMT welcomes guests of attendees to participate in some events. Guests and children are not permitted to attend continuing education (CE) classes.

Can I attend virtually?
No. Virtual attendance is not currently an option. If you are unable to join us in person, you will have the opportunity to purchase recorded CE Sessions from the AMT Learning Center in early Fall 2023. AMT is excited to offer virtual attendee options at its 2024 Annual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri.

Will there be an Exhibit Hall?
AMT is offering table space and opportunities to industry representatives to sponsor and showcase their product/organization in a large networking space, with lots of attendee traffic. Email amtannualmeeting@americanmedtech.org for more information.

What are the COVID-19 Protocols?
AMT is committed to providing a safe environment for annual meeting attendees, including following CDC guidance and complying with state and local public health requirements. Attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing while attending the Annual Meeting. If exhibiting COVID-like symptoms, an attendee should seek medical attention and refrain from attending CE sessions, meetings, and social events.

Will there be an AMT Store at the Annual Meeting?
Yes. There will be a small supply of AMT items for sale. The AMT Store will be located near registration.

When will registration open?
Attendee registration will open on Monday, March 20, 2023.

When does online registration close?
Online registration closes on Friday, July 15. You can register onsite in Norfolk, VA, beginning Sunday, July 23 at 12:00 PM ET.

How much does it cost to register?
The member attendee registration rate is $295, the nonmember attendee rate is $355, and the student attendee rate is $10.
Attendee registration includes one (1) Welcome Reception ticket and one (1) Awards Banquet ticket. If guests want to accompany an attendee to the Welcome Reception and/or the Awards Banquet, they must purchase a ticket.
The deadline to purchase Welcome Reception and Awards Banquet tickets is Monday, July 17, 2023.

What is the deadline to cancel my registration?
The deadline to cancel your registration to avoid penalties is Monday, July 17, 3:00 PM CT. No refunds are provided after that date/time. A $50 processing fee is applied to canceled registrations.

How can I avoid long lines at the registration desk?
Skip the long registration line and use your registration confirmation. After checking-in via our Annual Meeting computers, your printed badge and other registration materials are available for pick-up.

Do I need to wear my badge while attending the Annual Meeting?
Yes. Plan to always wear your badge during the Annual Meeting. Your badge will have a QR Code that is needed for access to all CE sessions, social events, etc. Without it, entry to the event you are trying to attend may be delayed.

Are the social events included in my registration?
Attendee registration includes one (1) Welcome Reception ticket and one (1) Awards Banquet ticket. If guests want to accompany an attendee to the Welcome Reception and/or the Awards Banquet, they must purchase a ticket.

Can I purchase extra social event tickets onsite in Norfolk?
No. Tickets can only be purchased via the online registration system. The deadline to purchase extra Welcome Reception and Awards Banquet tickets is Monday, July 17, 4:00 PM CT. Attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets prior to the Annual Meeting.

Continuing Education

Do I need to sign up for each CE session I would like to attend?
All the AMT CE breakout sessions are available on a first come, first-seated basis, including the keynote and general sessions. Please do indicate which CE sessions you are interested in, as it helps staff plan and coordinate the best room to hold each session.
Note that your Annual Meeting badge will need to be scanned to enter CE Sessions for tracking into AMTrax.

Do I need my badge to attend CE sessions?
Yes. Each attendee attending a CE session, including the keynote, general sessions, and breakouts, will need their badge to enter. Badges will be scanned, and your attendance will be recorded and tracked in AMTrax. Attendees will no longer need to sign an attendance roster. But for your attendance to be tracked, your Annual Meeting attendee badge will need to be scanned.

What is the maximum number of CE hours I can earn?
You can earn up to 16 hours of CE depending on which sessions you attend. Credit for participation in the educational program at the AMT Annual Meeting is calculated per hour for certification maintenance purposes.

I live in Florida. Are the AMT Annual Meeting CE Sessions accepted in the state of Florida?
Yes. Credits earned at the AMT Annual Meeting are accepted by the state of Florida (CE Broker #50-2206.

I live in California. Are the AMT Annual Meeting CE Sessions accepted in the state of California?
Yes. Credits earned at the AMT Annual Meeting are accepted by the state of California (Provider #0061) for MT, MLT, and RPT licensure renewal.

Can my guest or spouse attend CE sessions?
No. Only Annual Meeting registrants can attend educational sessions and earn CE credit.

How do I track my CE Session attendance?
Your badge will be scanned while entering CE Sessions(s) at the Annual Meeting. Your attendance will automatically be tracked in AMTrax. Attendees are still encouraged to keep track of which sessions they attended and to check AMTrax to ensure their attendance was documented.

How do I download CE Session Handouts?
CE session handouts will be available for download closer to the start of the Annual Meeting. An AMT log-in is needed.

Will I be able to fill out a session evaluation for each CE Session I attend?
Yes! Attendees will have the opportunity to complete an online evaluation for the overall Annual Meeting and for each CE session attended. Attendees will be sent an email from amtmeetings@americanmedtech.org with links to complete the surveys. Completing these evaluations helps to improve future meetings.

Electronic Voting

Who is eligible to vote during the Annual Business Meeting?
Credentialed AMT delegates will receive an electronic ballot from Electionbuddy.com via their email or text message on Wednesday, July 26 at 3:00 PM CT. The window for voting is open until Thursday, July 27 at 1:00 PM CT. An AMT staff member will be available to answer any questions or help with accessing the ballot. Basic Information

What are the dates for the 2023 AMT Annual Meeting?
The AMT Annual Meeting will be held Monday, July 24 to Friday, July 28, 2023.

Where is the Annual Meeting taking place?
The AMT Annual Meeting will be held at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott located in Norfolk, Virginia. The address is 235 E Main St, Norfolk, VA 23510.

Who can attend the AMT Annual Meeting?
The AMT Annual Meeting is open to everyone, including allied health industry professionals, employers, program directors, and students. AMT welcomes guests of attendees to participate in some events. Guests and children are not permitted to attend continuing education (CE) classes.

Can I attend virtually?
No. Virtual attendance is not currently an option. If you are unable to join us in person, you will have the opportunity to purchase recorded CE Sessions from the AMT Learning Center in early Fall 2023. AMT is excited to offer virtual attendee options at its 2024 Annual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri.

Will there be an Exhibit Hall?
AMT is offering table space and opportunities to industry representatives to sponsor and showcase their product/organization in a large networking space, with lots of attendee traffic. Email amtannualmeeting@americanmedtech.org for more information.

What are the COVID-19 Protocols?
AMT is committed to providing a safe environment for annual meeting attendees, including following CDC guidance and complying with state and local public health requirements. Attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing while attending the Annual Meeting. If exhibiting COVID-like symptoms, an attendee should seek medical attention and refrain from attending CE sessions, meetings, and social events.

Will there be an AMT Store at the Annual Meeting?
Yes. There will be a small supply of AMT items for sale. The AMT Store will be located near registration.

Registration and Badges

When will registration open?
Attendee registration will open on Monday, March 20, 2023.

When does online registration close?
Online registration closes on Friday, July 15. You can register onsite in Norfolk, VA, beginning Sunday, July 23 at 12:00 PM ET.

How much does it cost to register?
The member attendee registration rate is $295, the nonmember attendee rate is $355, and the student attendee rate is $10.
Attendee registration includes one (1) Welcome Reception ticket and one (1) Awards Banquet ticket. If guests want to accompany an attendee to the Welcome Reception and/or the Awards Banquet, they must purchase a ticket.
The deadline to purchase Welcome Reception and Awards Banquet tickets is Monday, July 17, 2023.

What is the deadline to cancel my registration?
The deadline to cancel your registration to avoid penalties is Monday, July 17, 3:00 PM CT. No refunds are provided after that date/time. A $50 processing fee is applied to canceled registrations.

How can I avoid long lines at the registration desk?
Skip the long registration line and use your registration confirmation. After checking-in via our Annual Meeting computers, your printed badge and other registration materials are available for pick-up.

Do I need to wear my badge while attending the Annual Meeting?
Yes. Plan to always wear your badge during the Annual Meeting. Your badge will have a QR Code that is needed for access to all CE sessions, social events, etc. Without it, entry to the event you are trying to attend may be delayed.

Are the social events included in my registration?
Attendee registration includes one (1) Welcome Reception ticket and one (1) Awards Banquet ticket. If guests want to accompany an attendee to the Welcome Reception and/or the Awards Banquet, they must purchase a ticket.

Can I purchase extra social event tickets onsite in Norfolk?
No. Tickets can only be purchased via the online registration system. The deadline to purchase extra Welcome Reception and Awards Banquet tickets is Monday, July 17, 4:00 PM CT. Attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets prior to the Annual Meeting.

Continuing Education

Do I need to sign up for each CE session I would like to attend?
All the AMT CE breakout sessions are available on a first come, first-seated basis, including the keynote and general sessions. Please do indicate which CE sessions you are interested in, as it helps staff plan and coordinate the best room to hold each session.
Note that your Annual Meeting badge will need to be scanned to enter CE Sessions for tracking into AMTrax.

Do I need my badge to attend CE sessions?
Yes. Each attendee attending a CE session, including the keynote, general sessions, and breakouts, will need their badge to enter. Badges will be scanned, and your attendance will be recorded and tracked in AMTrax. Attendees will no longer need to sign an attendance roster. But for your attendance to be tracked, your Annual Meeting attendee badge will need to be scanned.

What is the maximum number of CE hours I can earn?
You can earn up to 16 hours of CE depending on which sessions you attend. Credit for participation in the educational program at the AMT Annual Meeting is calculated per hour for certification maintenance purposes.

I live in Florida. Are the AMT Annual Meeting CE Sessions accepted in the state of Florida?

I live in California. Are the AMT Annual Meeting CE Sessions accepted in the state of California?

Can my guest or spouse attend CE sessions?
No. Only Annual Meeting registrants can attend educational sessions and earn CE credit.

How do I track my CE Session attendance?
Your badge will be scanned while entering CE Sessions(s) at the Annual Meeting. Your attendance will automatically be tracked in AMTrax. Attendees are still encouraged to keep track of which sessions they attended and to check AMTrax to ensure their attendance was documented.

How do I download CE Session Handouts?
CE session handouts will be available for download closer to the start of the Annual Meeting. An AMT log-in is needed.

Will I be able to fill out a session evaluation for each CE Session I attend?
Yes! Attendees will have the opportunity to complete an online evaluation for the overall Annual Meeting and for each CE session attended. Attendees will be sent an email from amtmeetings@americanmedtech.org with links to complete the surveys. Completing these evaluations helps to improve future meetings.

Credentialed AMT delegates will receive an electronic ballot from Electionbuddy.com via their email or text message on Wednesday, July 26 at 3:00 PM CT. The window for voting is open until Thursday, July 27 at 1:00 PM CT. An AMT staff member will be available to answer any questions or help with accessing the ballot. It is imperative that all delegates have a non-work-related email or cell phone number on file before the voting begins. Delegates can update their information by logging into their My AMT Portal.

A printed copy of the Annual Business Meeting reports will be available to delegates upon check-in and available online in the Delegate online community library.
