We are thrilled to present the 2025 AMT Scholarship to Kelly from Delaware! Kelly is an aspiring dental assistant whose aptitude and community service distinguished her from more than 2,500 scholarship applicants.
The award was presented during the annual HOSA International Leadership Conference (ILC) in Nashville in June 2025.
Who is the AMT Scholarship Winner?
Kelly is a high school student who has attended the HOSA ILC for two consecutive years. She credits this experience with helping her hone her leadership skills. Kelly was able to break out of her comfort zone by working with peers from around the country.
In her second year at HOSA ILC, Kelly placed in the top five in the state on an exam. This success inspired her to pursue her dream of becoming a dental assistant.
Kelly is grateful for the selfless support from her parents and thanks them for being her biggest health influencer. "Making my parents proud of my accomplishments and being able to give back to them” is my dream goal, Kelly stated after the HOSA ILC.
Community Service and the AMT Scholarship
The AMT Scholarship committee encourages students to give back to their community. During Kelly’s sophomore year, she volunteered at an elementary school to teach kids about the importance of brushing their teeth and showed them proper techniques.
In both English and Spanish, she connected with the class, delivered goodie bags, and presented optimal dental health as a fun, interactive experience.
What’s Next for the 2025 AMT Scholarship Winner?
Kelly is passionate about dental care and strives to leverage the AMT Scholarship to become a dental assistant. American Medical Technologists is excited to support Kelly and help her earn a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification.
