Meet the 2023-2024 HOSA Phlebotomy Competition Winner

AMT sponsors the annual HOSA Phlebotomy Competition and is pleased to introduce the 2023-2024 secondary winner, Stephen, (RPT) from Texas. Stephen spontaneously entered the competition to learn more about phlebotomy and gain experience to strive toward his goal of becoming a surgeon. This event played a pivotal role in helping him excel in his studies and served as a stepping stone in his career.

Learning Phlebotomy Skills

The competition allowed Stephen to learn the basics of phlebotomy with hands-on activities and practice managing different colored tubes and additives. He placed first in the state competition, which sparked inspiration to enroll in a phlebotomy course at his local community college. Afterward, Stephen advanced his skills and triumphantly won the 2023-2024 HOSA Phlebotomy Competition sponsored by AMT.

Stephen’s experience participating in the competition and working with AMT ignited his passion to pursue a career in healthcare.
