An opportunity I gained by being a member of AMT was to work alongside one of my doctors from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Lois Ramondetta, to present a live webinar on the HPV vaccine. It was great experience.

Apply for an AMT Scholarship

AMT offers scholarships each year to students and members to enhance educational and competency opportunities for current and future allied healthcare professionals.

AMT awards scholarships annually to members attending undergraduate/graduate programs and to high school graduates pursuing medical technology, medical assisting, dental assisting, or phlebotomy studies. Students and members can submit scholarship applications starting Oct. 1, 2024.

Interested applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a graduate of, or a senior in, an accredited high school (GED is acceptable) or a certified AMT member in good standing.
  • Be enrolled in a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting commission. Course of study must lead to a career in one of the disciplines certified by AMT.
  • Provide two letters of reference and a minimum 500-word essay describing why they have chosen their career path.
  • Submit a completed online application and all required information prior to April 1 to be considered for the current year’s scholarship

Each year the AMT Scholarship Committee selects all recipients based on a thorough review of qualified applicants and approved guidelines and criteria.

Dorothy “Mimi” Roush Phlebotomy Endowed Scholarship

AMT offers several scholarships each year to students and members to enhance educational and competency opportunities. In 2022, through a generous donation, AMT established the Dorothy “Mimi” Roush Phlebotomy Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship is intended for new applicants who will be paying for their phlebotomy application out of their own pocket. This scholarship accepts applications year-round.

Recipients of a student scholarship must furnish proof of being either a student in good standing or enrolled for entrance into the fall program of a college or university, accredited by a regional accrediting commission.
