President's Message

As fall finally gets its act together it is time for our state society meeting which will be held Saturday October 25,2025 at the Hilton Garden Inn ,95 Hwy 81W, McDonough, GA. Registration, hotel information, and the program are all available on the website.

GASSAMT was well represented by eight national award winners this year at the Annual Meeting. Congratulations to each and every one of them. I am proud of the work our members (and their families) have put in to be eligible for those awards.

Upcoming events include our spring 2026 meeting whose date and site will be selected at this meeting. The 2026 Magnolia Educational Treasures (MET) meeting will be held September 25-26,2026 in Mobile, AL. Registration is now open on the AMT website. Hotel information is available there also. The program is being put together at this time and will provide up to 14 hours of CEU for each attendee. Friday will be all general sessions and Saturday CE sessions will be split into two groups: one of interest to medical assistants and the other to those in the lab disciplines, but anyone may attend any session they choose. More information will be published as the meeting draws closer.

GASSAMT sends our condolences, prayers, and love to Southern District Councilor Anna Catron on the loss of her husband. We also extend our thoughts to our members who are facing health challenges and those who have family members with health concerns.

Come join us for our fall meeting and bring your friends, co-workers and students for fun, education, networking and fellowship. I look forward to seeing you in McDonough!

Peggy Oiler, BS, MLS(AMT)
GASSAMT President
