American Medical Technologists Badge FAQs

FAQ

What is a digital badge?

Badges are virtual emblems you can proudly display in digital resumes, social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook, or other online tools. They also are a quick link that allows employers and colleagues to easily verify your credentials.

What are the benefits of using my badge?
  • The AMT digital certification badge helps you share your achievement with colleagues, employers, and friends through online channels of your choice.
  • Unlike your paper certificate, the digital badge doesn’t display your AMT member number, which should be kept confidential.
  • By sharing your digital badge, those who click on it can verify the authenticity of your certification and learn more about the skills you’ve mastered at the same time.
  • The skills associated with your certification badge are linked to opportunities in the workforce.
  • Digital badging is a trusted method for real-time credential verification.
  • There’s no added fee for this service.

Who is issuing the badges?

AMT is the organization issuing your certification and has partnered with Credly to implement the electronic badge that represents your certification credential. AMT maintains and monitors the verified information of each individual’s certification.

How do I claim and share my badge?
Your badge must be accepted and “claimed” before it can be shared. See below for steps to claim your badge:

  1. Once you have completed the requirements for certification*, you will receive an email from Credly, AMT’s digital badging provider, with a link to accept your badge.
  2. If this is your first digital badge on the Credly.com site, you’ll be prompted to create an account by entering your first and last name, your country and postal code.
Please note: this is a separate account from your AMT account and badges will need to be accessed directly through the Credly website.
  3. After you’ve claimed your badge click the “Share” link to provide your digital credential on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, email, and more.
Check out Credly’s blog for additional details, including an instructional video on How to Manage & Share Your Digital Credentials.
*Requirements for certification may include either passing your exam and submitting all necessary information and/or paying your annual renewal fee and completing your certification maintenance requirements.

What do I do if I can't login to claim my badge?

For technical assistance regarding your badge or login issues on the Credly.com website, please visit the Credly Help Center or submit a request to their online support team. If you still need additional assistance, please email AMT at mail@americanmedtech.org.

What will prevent someone else from copying my badge and using it?

While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted by Credly. This link to verified data makes a badge more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

What if I don’t want my credential to be public?

You are in control of what is made public through the Credly platform. You can login to your Credly account to change your settings at any time. Claiming your badge allows employers to easily verify your certification through the AMT website.

Is there a fee for claiming my badge?

No. You can use Credly to manage and share your AMT badges at no charge.

I am employer, where can I verify my employees certification/badge?

Employers or other individuals can search for individuals who have an active AMT certification by visiting our verification website.

Can I still obtain a hardcopy of my certification card?

Yes, you can still print out a hard copy of your certification card via your AMT portal by logging in at americanmedtech.org/login and clicking on the My Certifications tab.
