Advanced Science Degree
Graduate-level degree in chemistry, biology, immunology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory sciences, or an appropriately related field from an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency, or an equivalent graduate-level degree from a foreign institution as certified by a foreign transcript evaluation agency approved by AMT*.
- Must have a minimum of six months of molecular science experience within the past five years**.
Molecular Biology (Molecular foundations of the process of replication, transcription and translation of genetic material.)
Genetics/Genomics (The effect of genetic differences on organisms; pharmacogenomics, mutations, inherited gene disorders, personalized medicine studies, etc.)
Histocompatibility (DNA-based tissue typing determining the compatibility of the antigens of donor and recipient before tissue transplantation.)
Infectious Disease Testing (Qualitative and quantitative testing of molecular organisms [virus, bacterium, etc.], PCR, sequencing, etc.)

*If academic credit is required for eligibility an official transcript must be submitted. The official transcript must be from an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency approved by AMT bearing the embossed seal of the academic institution, the date the degree was obtained, and the moniker of the school registrar.
**All experience credited toward eligibility must have been gained in a clinical laboratory, research setting, or industrial setting that performs the chemical, physical, or biological examination of fluids, tissues, and specimens that use molecular diagnostic techniques and methodologies. Where required, experience will be verified. The experience must have been obtained within the past five years in at least one of the following seven clinical laboratory disciplines:
