President's Message

I can’t believe it is almost the new year and we have a lot coming up in 2024!

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate the new ALSSAMT Board of Directors. Thank you all for allowing me to represent you for another term as President. I would also like to thank the National AMT Board of Directors for allowing me to sit as the Young Board Observer for this past year. It has taught me what AMT is about on a National level and I encourage everyone to apply for the position.

The ALSSAMT will hold a Spring Educational session along with a spring business/board meeting on April 13, 2023, at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, 2602 College Drive, Phenix City, Alabama 36869. Please mark your Calanders and plan to attend. More information will be forthcoming.

The 86th Annual Meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch, 315 Chestnut Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63102. Ask your state leaders how you can become a delegate. More information will be forthcoming. All AMT members are invited and encouraged to attend.

The Magnolia Educational Treasurers (MET) will be held September 19-22, 2024, at the Sheraton Orlando North Hotel 600 North Lake Destiny, Maitland, Florida 32751. The room rates are $129.00 per night plus tax and the rates are good for 3 days before and after so please come join us and have some fun while earning continuing education. Registration for the MET is now open, and the Sheraton is accepting early room reservations so you can go ahead and book your room now. Go to the meeting page on the AMT website for links to the hotel as well as a sneak peek at the continuing education topics at the meeting.

Please feel free to email me with any suggestions, comments, or questions at alssamt2018@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you and get some fresh ideas for the future.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I look forward to working with you all next year.

Daniel Benson, RMA, RPT (AMT)
ALSSAMT President
