President's Message
Dear Members and Colleagues,
It is a pleasure to connect with you following our successful VA/NC Clinical ColLABoration Spring Meeting, held May 28–29, 2025, at Winston-Salem State University. This collaborative event, co-hosted with colleagues from the Virginia State Society, was a testament to the power of partnership and professional development.
On May 28, we conducted Board of Directors meetings, followed by a full day of educational sessions and recognition and the state Business Meeting on May 29.
We had a strong turnout and an engaging lineup of educational sessions, which included:
- Thromboelastography (TEG) – exploring advanced coagulation testing.
- The Role of RMAs in Radiology Services in Non-Certified States – highlighting professional challenges and opportunities.
- Microbiology Skits – blending science and creativity for memorable learning.
- Basic Lab Skills Jeopardy – combining fun and education in a spirited review.
I am proud to congratulate our 2025 Student Writing Award winners:
- 1st Place: Nghi V. Le
- 2nd Place: Tali Sarmiti
- 3rd Place: Shukriyah Dean
We also recognized exceptional service within our state of society.
Charlene Lynch received the NCSSAMT State President’s Appreciation Award, and Ray Dean was honored with The Superlative Award. Please join me in celebrating their dedication and impact—well deserved!
Looking ahead, I encourage all 5038 members to attend AMT’s 2025 Annual Meeting, July 21–24, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown. Whether you’re looking to earn CE credit, network with peers, or simply reconnect with friends, this event offers something for everyone. Let this be your opportunity to reset, refresh, and return energized!
Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence in allied health. I look forward to seeing many of you this summer and to all that we will accomplish together in the year ahead.
In service,
Georgia A. McCauley, PhD, MBA, CRA, MLS(AMT)
NCSSAMT President
