President's Message
As winter fades and the promise of spring emerges, we are reminded that every season brings an opportunity for renewal, growth, and hope. Just as nature awakens and flourishes, so too can we continue to strengthen ourselves and our professional community. Challenges in life and in our professions shape us, refined us, and help us become stronger healthcare professionals committed to excellence. As members of the American Medical Technologists, we share a responsibility to uphold the high standards of our profession while supporting one another in lifelong learning and service.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest members of the Utah State Society of the American Medical Technologists. Each of you has worked diligently to earn your professional credentials, and we are proud to have you join our community. Our state society thrives because of the dedication, talent, and passion of its members. I encourage you to become involved, share your ideas, and help us continue building a vibrant and supportive professional network.
I also invite all members and guests to join us for our Spring Meeting on April 11, 2026, at the beautiful Red Butte Garden and Arboretum. This gathering will provide an opportunity to earn five continuing education credits, learn from engaging presentations ranging from diabetes care to the expanding role of medical assistants in orthopedic practices, and reconnect with colleagues who share a passion for advancing healthcare. We will also hold our business meeting to select delegates who will represent Utah at the AMT National Conference in Columbus, Ohio this July.
Beyond our meeting, we have another exciting opportunity to support the next generation of healthcare professionals. We are seeking volunteers to assist with our AMT outreach at the HOSA State Leadership Conference on April 16–17 in Layton, Utah. Engaging with students who aspire to careers in healthcare allows us to inspire future professionals and strengthen the future of our field.
Our society continues to grow through the dedication and service of its members. Whether through attending meetings, volunteering, mentoring students, or serving in leadership roles, every contribution helps shape the future of our profession. I invite each of you to become involved, share your talents, and help us continue moving forward together.
Thank you for your commitment to excellence, to lifelong learning, and to the spirit of professional camaraderie that makes our society so special. I look forward to seeing many of you this spring.
Terry Smith
